State Support

We appreciate the financial support we receive from various state departments, agencies and NGOs, which allows us to operate effectively; details as follows:

  • Maritime Services Division,

    Maritime Services Division, under the Department of Transport's auspices, provides an annual grant, currently set at €5,075, to assist in defraying verified expenses.

  • CLÁR

    CLÁR, under the auspices of the Department of Rural and Community Development granted  €12,750 in December 2017 to purchase additional defibrillators and outside storage boxes.

  • OPW

    OPW (The Office of Public Works) provide an annual grant to ensure the road to the harbour is accessible and clear of overhanging branches. They also provide parking attendants that ensure emergency vehicles and volunteer crew members can access the boathouse during the busy summer period.

  • TÚS

    TÚS, under the auspices of the Department of Social Protection,  provide the people who undertake the weekly checks on every defibrillator unit and maintain the boathouse personal protection equipment (PPE)  and other essential equipment.

  • Kerry County Council

    Kerry County Council provide an annual contribution, currently set at €2,500, for water safety.

  • POBAL

    POBAL, the Government grant administration agency, provided a grant of €200 under the energy support scheme in 2022.

  • SKDP

    SKDP (South Kerry Development Partnership) for their ongoing support and mentoring and for providing all-weather gear for the TÚS initiative.
